The institutional profile rests heavily on accreditation depth. SSIM is approved by AICTE and has held approval continuously since 1992. Its PGDM programmes were accredited by NAAC in 2014 and re-accredited in 2021, the National Board of Accreditation accredited the flagship PGDM programme in 2020, and the Association of Indian Universities recognises the PGDM as equivalent to an MBA degree. Internationally, SSIM holds SAQS accreditation from AMDISA and is a member of AACSB, while the PGDM-BIFS programme carries a separate accreditation from the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.
The institute began with an AICTE-sanctioned intake of just 40 students and today operates with a sanctioned intake of 300 students each academic year, a growth of more than seven times across three decades. SSIM reports 350 plus corporate partners, an alumni network exceeding 6,500 graduates, more than 50 new-age specialisations and nine value-added certification programmes. Merit scholarships of up to Rs. 1,00,000 are offered against the programme fee.

SSIM is ranked second among private B-schools in Hyderabad by CSR 2025, GHRDC 2025 and Outlook 2026, though it does not feature in the published NIRF Management list, which is a fair point of caution for candidates who weight NIRF heavily.
