SSIM has been placed second among the top private business schools in Hyderabad by CSR in 2025, by GHRDC in 2025 and by Outlook in 2026, a consistent position across three independent surveys in consecutive cycles. At a wider geography, Business Today placed the institute twenty-third in South India and Business World ranked it thirty-seventh in India, while Business India awarded an A+++ B-school grade in 2024. The one notable absence is the National Institutional Ranking Framework: SSIM does not currently appear in the published NIRF Management list, and candidates who weight NIRF heavily should factor that in.

Accreditation Profile

On accreditation the picture is stronger, and this is arguably the institute's most durable credential. SSIM is approved by AICTE and has held approval continuously since 1992, with approval letters for every year through 2026 published by the institute. The PGDM programmes were accredited by NAAC in 2014 and re-accredited in 2021, making SSIM the first AICTE-approved B-school in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to secure NAAC accreditation. The National Board of Accreditation accredited the flagship PGDM programme in 2020, a programme-level quality benchmark distinct from institutional accreditation, and the Association of Indian Universities recognises the PGDM as equivalent to an MBA degree, which matters for government employment and further study.

Internationally, SSIM holds SAQS accreditation from AMDISA, the South Asian quality assurance system that emerged from EFMD-AMDISA cooperation, and is a member of AACSB, among the most respected global business school accreditation bodies. The PGDM-BIFS programme carries an additional accreditation from the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai, which is uncommon for a specialised banking and insurance programme at this tier. The practical conclusion is that SSIM sits in the Tier-2 segment nationally, with strong regional standing in Hyderabad and quality assurance credentials that exceed what its survey rankings alone would suggest.
