Sree Uthradom Thirunal Academy of Medical Sciences (SUTAMS), popularly known as SUT Medical College Trivandrum, is a private medical institution established in 2006 under the Sri Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust, located in Vencode, Vattappara, Thiruvananthapuram. The attached Sree Uthradom Thirunal (SUT) Hospital was inaugurated in 1987 by the Chief Minister of Kerala as a response to the scarcity of tertiary care facilities in the southern part of the state. Affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), SUTAMS sits on 30 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and admits 150 MBBS students annually. It also offers 26 MD/MS postgraduate seats across 8 specialties. The attached SUT Hospital is a 470-bedded multi-specialty facility with over 1,150 outpatients daily. The campus features modern smart classrooms, a central library of 1,600 sq.mt. with 7,149 books and 79 journals, separate hostels for 270 boys and 466 girls, and fully equipped pre-clinical and para-clinical laboratories. SUTAMS is recognised for pioneering cardiac procedures in Kerala through its SUT Specialty Hospital.

Hostels
Boys Hostel: 270 capacity. Girls Hostel: 466 capacity across 3 buildings (160 UG rooms, 60 PG/resident rooms, 40 nurse rooms). All hostels have common rooms, recreation facilities, 24-hour security, laundry, and mess. Annual hostel fee ~₹1,14,200 (UG) and ~₹1,50,000 (PG).

470-Bedded Multi-Specialty Teaching Hospital
SUT Hospital, with 470 beds and 1,150+ outpatients daily, provides comprehensive clinical training across all major specialties. It is recognised for pioneering cardiac procedures in Kerala. The SUT Royal Hospital near Ulloor is an additional affiliated facility.
SUT Rural General Hospital
SUT Rural General Hospital at Vattappara, Nedumangad, serves as an additional clinical training centre and community health outreach facility, providing affordable medical care to rural populations in Thiruvananthapuram district.

SUTAMS is located at Vencode, Vattappara P.O., on the Vattappara–Nedumangad Road, approximately 20 km from Thiruvananthapuram city centre and 18 km from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The campus junction is at Vencod on the Nedumangad road. Buses from Thiruvananthapuram city connect to Vattappara regularly.
The total MBBS course fee at SUTAMS is approximately ₹41.45 lakh for Government Quota students (approximately ₹6.61 lakh per year). Management Quota fees are approximately ₹13 lakh per year; NRI quota is approximately ₹20 lakh per year. All fees are as per Kerala Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) order.
The approximate NEET 2024 closing score for SUTAMS under Kerala State Quota (SM General category) was around 480 marks. Management quota cutoff was lower. NRI quota cutoffs are separate. Verify exact round-wise cutoffs at cee.kerala.gov.in as these vary each year.
SUTAMS was established in 2006 by the Sri Moogambigai Charitable and Educational Trust. The attached SUT Hospital was inaugurated earlier in 1987 by the Chief Minister of Kerala, at a time when tertiary care facilities were scarce in south Kerala. The medical college was set up to leverage the hospital's clinical infrastructure for medical education.
