BAMS Admission – Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for BAMS admission at SKAMC Bangalore, candidates must have passed the 12th Standard / 2nd PUC examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects along with English. A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is required for General category candidates; the minimum is relaxed to 40% for SC, ST, OBC, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B candidates. Candidates must also have qualified in the NEET UG examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The minimum age requirement is 17 years as on 1st October of the admission year. Non-Karnataka candidates seeking admission to BAMS at SKAMC must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from RGUHS, Bangalore, before participating in KEA counselling.

BAMS Admission Process – KEA Karnataka Counselling

KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) conducts centralised online AYUSH counselling for BAMS seats in Karnataka. The counselling process allocates 85% of seats — including State Government Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota in private colleges — through KEA. The remaining 15% All India Quota seats are managed by AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee). KEA counselling typically comprises First Round, Second Round, a Mop-up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round. PG AYUSH Admission (MD/MS Ayurveda)

Admissions to the five postgraduate MD/MS programmes at SKAMC Bangalore are conducted by KEA Karnataka based on AIAPGET (All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test) scores, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates must hold a BAMS degree from an NCISM-recognised institution and must have completed the compulsory rotating internship by 31st July of the year of admission. The minimum qualifying percentile for PG AYUSH is the 50th percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates). PG seats are distributed as 85% State Quota (through KEA) and 15% All India Quota (through AACCC / KEA). Candidates already holding a PG degree in any Ayurveda speciality are not eligible; however, PG diploma holders may apply for the same speciality.
