SSMC is located approximately 90–95 km from Bengaluru city, about a 1 hour 15 minute drive, and approximately 95.2 km from Kempegowda International Airport. It is 6 km from Tumkur city centre on the Bengaluru–Honnavar National Highway (B.H. Road).

Admissions are conducted via MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) Deemed University online counselling at mcc.nic.in based on NEET UG merit. Candidates must register on the MCC portal, fill in college choices, and report after seat allotment with original documents.
