Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) is the 6th government medical college of Assam and the first on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River. Foundation stone laid on 21 October 2008 by President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and CM Tarun Gogoi. Established 2013. Campus: Tumuki, Bihaguri, NH 37A, Tezpur (Sonitpur), Assam – 784010. Affiliated with SSUHS; NMC recognized. 125 MBBS seats; 60 PG seats across 15 departments (MD/MS). Also offers Nursing and paramedical courses. Campus: 36+ total acres (12 acres for medical college). Teaching hospital: 570-bed hospital with 95 ICU beds and multiple clinical departments. Medical Research Unit (MRU) for research and innovation. Serves Sonitpur, Udalguri, Darrang, and Biswanath districts. Library: modern computerized library for 150 students and staff with journal section, reference section, e-library, internet. 4 modern digital air-conditioned lecture halls, research rooms, MEU, examination hall, cafeteria, common rooms, gymnasium, swimming pool, auditorium, statistical unit, central animal house, central workshop, guest house. Campus: 15,950 sq.m. (academic block). NEET 2025 AIQ General Round 1 cutoff score: 540 (rank: not published). NEET 2024 AIQ General cutoff score: 661. All India Ranking (NEET 2025): 356th. Assam State Ranking: 6th. Bond: 5 years; penalty ₹30 lakh. Internship stipend: ₹21,000/month. PG stipend: ₹48,000–₹51,000/month (1st yr ₹48K, 2nd yr ₹49.5K, 3rd yr ₹51K).
