Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) is the first and only government medical college in Arunachal Pradesh. Named after Tomo Riba, the second Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 2017; academic sessions commenced 1 August 2018 (AY 2018-19). Located at NH-52A, Old Assembly Complex, Naharlagun, Papum Pare District, AP – 791110. Affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Arunachal Pradesh; recognized by NMC. Started with 50 MBBS seats; NMC MARB approved doubling to 100 seats from AY 2024-25. Also offers DNB postgraduate courses in Anaesthesiology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology (NBEMS accredited), B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing. Teaching hospital: TRIHMS Hospital — 500-bed tertiary care multi-specialty regional referral centre. State-of-the-art auditorium, modern labs, library, and separate hostels for boys and girls. First Convocation held in 2023 — 49 MBBS graduates received degree certificates. Admission conducted by Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), Arunachal Pradesh via Single Window System. Internship stipend: approx. ₹20,000–₹25,000/month as per AP Government norms.
