RE NEET Result 2026: NTA to Declare Results On or Before July 20
The wait for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination result is expected to end soon, as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has indicated that the result will be declared on or before July 20, 2026. A senior NTA official confirmed to news agency ANI that the evaluation process is being carried out on a priority basis and that the agency is working to release the result as early as possible, even though no exact date or time has been officially notified yet. NTA has also assured candidates that the MBBS admission calendar for the 2026-27 academic session will not be delayed despite the re-examination and will proceed as originally planned.
Before the result can be declared, NTA must first finalise the answer key by reviewing all objections raised by candidates against the provisional answer key. According to officials, close to 10,000 objections have been received, and each one is being examined individually by subject experts before the final answer key is prepared. Once the final answer key is ready, the result and scorecards will be generated based on it and uploaded on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

Why Is There a Re-Exam and Delay in NEET UG 2026 Result?
The original NEET UG 2026 exam was held on May 3, 2026, for nearly 20 lakh candidates, but it was cancelled on May 12, 2026, after a confirmed paper leak was detected by the Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG). Following the cancellation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took charge of the case and made several arrests. NTA subsequently rescheduled the exam, and the re-examination was successfully conducted on June 21, 2026. Since the re-exam was held more than a month after the originally planned date, the entire evaluation and result timeline has also been pushed accordingly, with NTA now targeting a result declaration by July 20, 2026.

NTA is currently reviewing these objections, and the responses that are found valid will be incorporated into the final answer key. NEET UG 2026 Qualifying Criteria and Cut-Off
As per NTA norms, General category candidates need to score at or above the 50th percentile to qualify for NEET UG 2026, while relaxed percentile criteria apply for reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates. The exact qualifying cut-off marks are determined based on the difficulty level of the exam and the overall performance of candidates, and will be announced along with the result.
