All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot is a premier central government autonomous medical institution established in 2020 under Phase VI of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 December 2020 – with the first academic batch of 50 MBBS students commencing on 21 December 2020 – AIIMS Rajkot is one of the four AIIMS that became operational in academic year 2020–21. Located on 201 acres of land near Khanderi, Para Pipaliya, approximately 6 km from Rajkot city, AIIMS Rajkot is being built at a project cost of ₹1,195 Crores.
