GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Gandhinagar was established in 2012. The foundation stone was laid in 2010, and the college started functioning from August 2012 with the first batch of 150 MBBS students.

GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar has a total of 200 MBBS seats per year. Of these, 85% (170 seats) are allocated to the State Quota and 15% (30 seats) to NRI/Management Quota. The seat intake was increased from 150 to 200 in 2019.

For the Government/State Quota, the approximate annual fee is INR 3,30,000, with a total fee of approximately INR 14,85,000 for the 4.5-year study period. Management Quota annual fee is approximately INR 9,00,000. Hostel fee is separate and approximately INR 12,000 per year. Fees are subject to revision by the fee regulatory authority.

Yes, separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls, each with a capacity of 350 students. The hostels offer rooms (2 students per room), dining hall/mess, canteen, visitors' room, reading room, TV room, and indoor games area. A dedicated resident doctors' hostel is also available.
