About Government Medical College, Sangareddy

Government Medical College, Sangareddy (GMC Sangareddy) is a state-run government medical institution and one of the eight new government medical colleges announced and sanctioned by the Government of Telangana in June 2021. Constructed at a cost of ₹30 crore, the college was inaugurated on 15 November 2022 by then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and commenced its first academic session in 2022-23 with an intake of 150 MBBS students. Located at Tadlapalle, Sangareddy – 502001, in the Sangareddy district of Telangana — a rapidly developing region approximately 60 km northwest of Hyderabad — GMC Sangareddy is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college is equipped with modern academic and residential infrastructure: lecture halls, demo rooms, digital classrooms, fully-staffed departmental laboratories (Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical, and Clinical), well-maintained separate hostels for boys and girls, a comprehensive central library (medical books, Indian and foreign journals, digital library), departmental museums, and hospital outpatient and inpatient departments. The teaching hospital — Government General Hospital, Sangareddy — provides clinical training in general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, emergency, and allied specialties. GMC Sangareddy serves the healthcare and medical education needs of over 35 lakh residents of Sangareddy, Medak, and surrounding districts. Biomedical waste management, infection control, and hospital committees are maintained as per NMC norms. The college also offers Diploma courses in Allied Health Sciences (DMIT and DOA), with admissions for 2025-26 underway.

Admission Process
State Quota (85%): Step 1: Qualify NEET UG. Step 2: Register at knruhs.telangana.gov.in and pay application fee. Step 3: Upload documents; download verification slip. Step 4: Mock allotment → fill and lock final college preferences. Step 5: Seat allotment – Round 1 → Round 2 → Mop-Up Round → College Round (4th). Suppose vacant seats = x, then 10x of registered candidates are sent to college for College Round, exhausted in merit order. Step 6: Report to college within specified dates with originals. All India Quota (15%): Step 1–4 as per MCC website (mcc.nic.in). Step 5: MCC Round 1 → Round 2 → Mop-Up → Stray Vacancy Rounds. Step 6: Report to college with DD and required documents.

Important Notice

OBC certificate must be issued by Telangana state government only. EWS certificate from Tahsildar of Telangana (current year). Candidates wishing to upgrade must report physically at allotted institute to retain Round 1 seat. Compulsory rural/government service bond applicable post-MBBS. All India candidates eligible for 15% AIQ only; Telangana domicile required for 85% state quota per SC ruling of 2025 upholding Telangana's 4-year domicile rule for MBBS.
