The Gurukul Campus at Vidyagiri Terdal is a self-contained residential medical education campus — one of the few genuinely self-sufficient institutional campuses among private Ayurvedic colleges in Karnataka. Unlike many private colleges that house their academic blocks in one location and outsource hostel facilities to privately managed paying guest accommodations elsewhere, the GAMCH & RC Gurukul Campus has all its facilities — college building, hospital, hostels, herbal garden, auditorium, gymnasium, sports grounds, and residential quarters for principal and staff — within the same campus boundary. This creates an institutional culture and student experience that justifies the Gurukul designation both philosophically and practically.

Campus Infrastructure

Campus Infrastructure & Facilities

Attached Teaching Hospital & Research Centre (24-Hour)

A fully functional Ayurvedic teaching hospital and research centre providing 24-hour emergency services. Equipped with IPD wards, ICU, pharmacy, ambulance service, and all major Ayurvedic speciality OPDs. Students receive hands-on clinical training under faculty supervision across all departments and during the 1-year rotating internship.

14 Academic Departments (MSR-Compliant)

The college maintains 14 academic departments, each fully equipped with the required tools, furnishings, models, charts, specimens, and infrastructure in compliance with NCISM Minimum Standards Requirements (MSR). Each department supports both theory teaching and practical laboratory work.

Library

A large central library with an extensive collection of Ayurvedic and modern medical books, journals, and reference materials covering the full BAMS curriculum. The library provides sufficient reading space and supports student study and research across all three professional years.

Lecture Halls & Demonstration Rooms

Spacious, well-ventilated classrooms and lecture halls equipped with modern teaching tools including OHP projectors, LCD projectors, whiteboards, and blackboards, along with multimedia and audio-visual aids to support dynamic and engaging academic delivery.

Herbal Garden

A dedicated herbal garden maintained by the college management to support the academic needs of students in Dravyaguna and related disciplines. The garden provides live plant specimens for direct study of medicinal species and their Ayurvedic applications.

Boys Hostel

On-campus hostel facility for male students, situated within the Gurukul Campus. The residential setting allows students to remain fully immersed in the academic environment, with access to campus facilities including sports grounds, gymkhana, and all institutional amenities.

Campus Facilities at Grameen Ayurvedic Medical College: The Gurukul Campus Model

Teaching Hospital & Research Centre

The attached Grameen Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital & Research Centre is the clinical backbone of the BAMS programme. It operates 24-hour emergency services and is equipped with in-patient ward facilities (separate male and female wards), ICU, an ambulance for patient transport, a fully stocked pharmacy dispensing both classical Ayurvedic formulations and modern medicines, and all major Ayurvedic OPD departments covering Kayachikitsa, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Panchakarma, Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga, Kaumarabhritya, Swasthavritta, Agadatantra, and Ras Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana. The hospital's rural service orientation means it actively treats a high volume of patients from surrounding agricultural communities, giving students exposure to rural disease patterns and socioeconomic healthcare contexts that are central to Indian Ayurvedic practice.

14 Academic Departments: MSR-Compliant with Museum and Lab in Each

GAMCH & RC maintains 14 academic departments — each equipped with the tools, furnishings, models, charts, specimens, and infrastructure required under NCISM Minimum Standards Requirements (MSR). This 14-department structure is wider than the minimum required for a 60-seat BAMS college, reflecting an investment in breadth of academic infrastructure that is consistent with the institution's research centre status. Classrooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with OHP projectors, LCD projectors, whiteboards, and blackboards, as well as multimedia and audio-visual teaching aids. The Rachana Sharir department supports anatomy and dissection work; the Kriya Sharir department supports physiology practicals; Dravyaguna labs support plant identification and formulation study; Ras Shastra labs support Ayurvedic pharmaceutical preparation.
