Courses Offered at JIS University, Kolkata
Engineering and Technology
The B.Tech programme is a four-year course in Computer Science and Engineering, with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Science and Internet of Things. Eligibility is a minimum of 60 percent marks in Class 12 in the science stream, and candidates entering through WBJEE need at least 45 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The CSE programme has an approved intake of 120 seats, with 12 additional lateral entry seats. The faculty also offers BCA, M.Tech in CSE with AI and ML and with Information Security, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering.
Pharmacy
The Faculty of Pharmacy offers the two-year D.Pharm, the four-year B.Pharm with an intake of 100 seats and 10 lateral seats, the two-year M.Pharm with specialisations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Quality Assurance, and a Ph.D. B.Pharm requires 60 percent in Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology, while M.Pharm requires a B.Pharm from a PCI-approved institute with at least 70 percent marks.
Management and Law
The Faculty of Management offers a four-year BBA, a four-year BBA in Hospital Management, a two-year MBA and a Ph.D. BBA requires 50 percent in Class 12 in any stream and MBA requires a graduate degree with 50 percent, both along with JET. The Faculty of Juridical Sciences offers the three-year LLB, the five-year integrated BBA-LLB, the two-year LLM and a Ph.D. in Law.
Science and Other Faculties
The Faculty of Science offers four-year B.Sc programmes in Biotechnology, Microbiology and Medical Lab Technology, a four-year B.Sc (Hons.) in Data Science, and two-year M.Sc programmes in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Remote Sensing and GIS, Environmental Science Climate Change and Sustainable Development, and Data Science. Doctoral programmes are available in science, earth sciences, mathematics, management, pharmacy, law and engineering, with eligibility of a postgraduate degree with 55 percent marks and a university research entrance test.
