About JIS University
JIS University is a private university located at 81, Nilgunj Road, Agarpara, Kolkata, West Bengal. It was established through the JIS University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XXII of 2014), which came into force in February 2015. The university is part of the JIS Group, which describes itself as the largest educational conglomerate of Eastern India, with 37 institutions, 170 programmes and about 39,000 students over a journey of 24 years. According to the institute profile filed with WBJEEB, the total for B.Tech CSE is INR 6,68,900 over eight semesters: INR 1,06,850 in semester 1, INR 80,150 in semesters 2 to 6 and INR 80,650 in semesters 7 and 8. Hostel and mess are charged separately.

The academic structure is built around separate faculties. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology runs B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering with specialisations in AI and ML, Cyber Security, Data Science and IoT, along with BCA, M.Tech and Ph.D. The Faculty of Pharmacy offers D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Ph.D. The Faculty of Management offers BBA, BBA in Hospital Management, MBA and Ph.D. The Faculty of Juridical Sciences offers LLB, the integrated BBA-LLB, LLM and Ph.D., and the Faculty of Science covers biosciences, earth sciences and remote sensing, mathematics and data science, physics and chemistry. The university also has faculties of education, hospitality and hotel administration, agriculture, and a school of medical science and research.
Admission to most programmes happens through the JIS University Entrance Test (JET), which the website lists for 22 August 2026.
