About Kiran Medical College, Surat
Kiran Medical College (KMC) is a modern, self-financed greenfield medical institution located at Vadod, Olpad Taluka, Surat district, Gujarat. It operates as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) college under the Government of Gujarat's Health Policy 2016, managed by the Samast Patidar Aarogya Trust — a not-for-profit organization. The foundation stone of Kiran Medical College was laid on 27th March 2022 by Hon. Governor (UP) Smt. Anandiben Patel. The land for the medical college was generously donated by Shri Vallabhbhai Lakhani, Director of Kiran Gems, Surat. The college is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The Samast Patidar Aarogya Trust also manages Kiran Multi Super Specialty Hospital and Research Centre, Surat — a state-of-the-art multi-specialty hospital inaugurated by Hon. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in 2017. The hospital has a total of 900 beds, of which 605 are dedicated teaching beds. The hospital has performed over 80,000 surgeries, with 2,500,000+ OPD visits, 800,000+ IPD admissions, and 80,000+ surgeries annually. The hospital accommodates an average of 1,500+ outpatients per day, ensuring rich and diverse clinical exposure for MBBS students from day one of their clinical postings. The Kiran Medical College campus is spread over 25 acres of eco-friendly green land. The campus features ultra-modern academic infrastructure including gallery-type lecture theatres, smart classrooms, advanced pre-clinical and para-clinical laboratories, a medical skills laboratory, a well-stocked library with digital resources, and dedicated departmental museums. The academic environment strictly follows the NMC's Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. The college has a faculty strength of 127+ dedicated and experienced professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and tutors across 17 departments. The college offers MBBS with an annual intake of 150 seats. For the AY 2024-25 batch, the Government Quota annual tuition fee is Rs.9,05,000 and Management Quota is Rs.17,32,000 with NRI Quota at $25,000/year. For AY 2025-26, the Government Quota fee has been revised to Rs.10,14,000 and Management Quota to Rs.19,40,000, with NRI Quota at $27,500/year. Hostel fees (including mess) are Rs.1,26,000/year for Non-AC and Rs.1,63,000/year for AC rooms (applicable to all batches). Tuition fees are to be paid every 6 months as per the FRC – Fee Regulatory Committee. For postgraduate education, Kiran Medical College has received NMC sanction for MD/MS programs in 8 specialties for AY 2025-26, with fees ranging from Rs.8,00,000 to Rs.40,00,000 per year under Government Quota and Rs.14,00,000 to Rs.49,00,000 per year under Management Quota.
