Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) — formerly and popularly known as M.S. Ramaiah Medical College (MSRMC) — is one of India's most prestigious and highly ranked private medical colleges, established in 1979 by the late Sri Muddaiah Siddaiah Ramaiah (M.S. Ramaiah) under the Gokula Education Foundation Trust in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Sri M.S. Ramaiah was a visionary philanthropist, entrepreneur, and educationist who built one of Karnataka's largest multi-disciplinary educational campuses on 70+ acres in Mathikere, North Bengaluru. From AY 2022-23, RMC became a Constituent College of Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) — a private university established with Government of Karnataka approval — and now issues RUAS degrees (earlier batches hold RGUHS degrees). RMC is approved by NMC, accredited with NAAC A+, and its hospital holds NABH and NABL accreditation. It offers 150 MBBS seats, 158 PG (MD/MS) seats in 22 departments, and 50 Super Specialty (DM/MCh) seats in 12 specialties — one of the most comprehensive super-specialty medical education portfolios among private colleges in Karnataka. The Ramaiah Medical College Hospital (RMCH) — established in 1984 — is a 1,331-bed full-spectrum super-specialty teaching hospital with world-class ICUs, high-tech OTs, Eye Bank, Kidney and Corneal Transplant programs, and cutting-edge diagnostics. RMC was founded in 1979 by the late Sri Muddaiah Siddaiah Ramaiah (M.S. Ramaiah) — a visionary philanthropist, entrepreneur, and educationist from Karnataka. Sri M.S. Ramaiah established the Gokula Education Foundation Trust, which built one of Bengaluru's most iconic 70-acre multi-disciplinary educational campuses in Mathikere, housing 21+ institutions including MSRIT (Ramaiah Institute of Technology), RMC, RUAS, Ramaiah College of Pharmacy, and others.
RMC was affiliated to RGUHS till AY 2021-22. From AY 2022-23 onwards, it became a Constituent College of Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) — a private university established with Government of Karnataka approval. Degrees from 2022-23 onwards are issued by RUAS. However, seat allotment for MBBS/MD/MS is still conducted by KEA Karnataka; DM/MCh by MCC. There are NO direct admissions.
150 MBBS seats; 158 MD/MS PG seats in 22 departments; 50 DM/MCh Super Specialty seats in 12 specialties (DM Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology; MCh Urology, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Surgical Oncology).
