MRMC is superbly connected — 2.6 km from Kalaburagi KSRTC Bus Stand (8-10 minutes), 450 metres from Government Hospital Bus Stop (5-minute walk), 4.2 km from Gulbarga Junction Railway Station (15 minutes), and 12.3 km from Kalaburagi Airport (20 minutes). Kalaburagi is 215 km from Hyderabad (3 hours), on the Mumbai–Chennai national highway (NH-65), with direct trains to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi.

MRMC was established in 1963 when the Karnataka Government decided to set up its state medical college in Bellary instead of Gulbarga — depriving the underserved HK region of a medical institution. The Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society, under Sri Mahadevappa Rampure, stepped in to establish a private medical college. In 1972, MRMC received recognition from MCI — becoming only the SECOND PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGE IN INDIA to receive MCI recognition after KMC Manipal. It also received recognition from the British Medical Council (now GMC, UK). This 60+ year legacy makes it one of India's most historically important private medical colleges.

NEET state quota General merit: 500–550 marks. Management quota: ~400–480 marks. MRMC is ranked Karnataka State Management #10 — among the top-tier private colleges in North Karnataka. HK-region candidates (Kalaburagi, Bidar, Raichur, Yadgir, Koppal, Ballari) access 70% of state quota seats at lower effective cutoffs. Exact round-wise cutoffs on KEA portal.

MRMC is in Kalaburagi — the headquarters of the HK region. 70% of state quota MBBS seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the 6 HK districts (Kalaburagi, Bidar, Raichur, Yadgir, Koppal, Ballari) who have studied there for 7+ years. Only ~30% of state quota is open to non-HK Karnataka candidates. HK-region candidates also have 8% of state quota reserved for them in ALL other Karnataka government and private colleges. This is a substantial benefit for HK-region NEET aspirants.
