Eligibility for the B.E. programme requires a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 45 percent aggregate marks (40 percent for reserved categories), along with a valid KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main score depending on the admission route. The Computer Science and its allied branches, including AI and ML, Data Science and Computer Science and Business Systems, are generally the most sought after, given the current demand in the software industry. Students can compare branch-wise fees on the fee details page.

At the postgraduate level, PESCE offers four M.Tech programmes: Computer Aided Design of Structures (Civil), Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, and Machine Design (Mechanical). These two-year programmes are meant for B.E./B.Tech graduates who want specialised research and design skills, and admission is generally through Karnataka PGCET or a valid GATE score, which also brings eligibility for a stipend. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) round out the postgraduate offering for students from a management or computing background.

The college also runs Ph.D. programmes, with departments affiliated to VTU and the University of Mysore under the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Management Studies. Research activity is supported through PET Research Foundation, established in 2002, along with sponsored research projects, publications and patents. Details of eligibility for research programmes are explained in the admission eligibility section.

Across all programmes, the total approved intake is around 820 seats at the UG level and 192 seats at the PG level. Because Computer Science and its variants are the most in-demand branches, they tend to close earlier and at more competitive ranks in KCET and COMEDK counselling than branches such as Civil, Automobile and Industrial and Production Engineering. Prospective students should read the admission cutoff page to understand which branches are within reach of their rank.
