About Sardar Patel University
Sardar Patel University (SPU), formerly known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Vidyapeeth, is a public state university headquartered in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand district, Gujarat. Established in October 1955 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the then-Bombay Province, the university was recognised by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) in October 1968.
