The hospital was established in 2017 and the college commenced academic operations in 2019. It is run by the Dharwad Based Ayurveda Education Trust (DBAET) and is located in Belgavi, Karnataka.

The college offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), a 5.5-year undergraduate programme (including a 1-year compulsory internship) with a sanctioned intake of 60 seats per year.

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, and is approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per norms). A valid NEET-UG score is mandatory. Candidates must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
