S.S. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (SSIMS&RC), popularly known as SSIMS Davangere, is a premier private medical college established in 2006 under the aegis of the Bapuji Education Association (BEA). BEA was founded in July 1958 by late Sri Shamanur Shivashankarappa for the advancement of education across diverse disciplines, and today manages 43+ educational institutions ranging from kindergartens to professional postgraduate colleges. Located in Jnanashankara, NH-4 Bypass Road, Davangere — situated right at the geographic centre of Karnataka on NH-48, approximately 280 km from Bengaluru — SSIMS&RC is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The campus spans over 130 acres and houses a 1,100-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital. The college offers MBBS (200 seats), PG MD/MS programs (61 seats across 21 departments), Super-Specialty DM/MCh programs (6 seats across 5 departments — Cardiology, Neurology, and others).
