Required Entrance Exams

NEET UG

Eligibility Criteria
10+2 with PCB and English; minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC); minimum age 17 years as of December 31; NEET UG qualified
Admission Process
Step 1: Qualify NEET UG with 620+ marks (General) for competitive chances. Step 2: Register on KEA portal (kea.kar.nic.in) for State / Management quota seats OR on MCC portal (mcc.nic.in) for 15% All India Quota. Step 3: Document verification. Step 4: Fill and lock college choices. Step 5: Seat allotment — seats allotted based on NEET rank, quota (General Merit / Roman Catholic Christian Minority / Institutional), and preference. Step 6: Report to SJMC with original documents and pay admission fees.

Important Notice

IMPORTANT: St. John's Medical College has NO NRI quota. All 150 seats are under General Merit, Roman Catholic Christian Minority, and Institutional categories. Majority of seats are reserved for Roman Catholic Christian candidates. After MBBS, graduates are required to serve for 2 years in SJMCH-affiliated hospitals in medically underserved areas. Skipping rural service requires serving 1 year at SJMCH-affiliated hospitals post-PG or paying a penalty bond of ₹5,00,000. Required documents include NEET UG Score Card, 10th/12th Marks Cards, TC, Migration Certificate, Community Certificate (if applicable — Roman Catholic), Aadhaar, 8 passport photographs, affidavit for 2-year rural service bond.

Admission Process
All PG (MD/MS/Diploma) admissions conducted by KEA Karnataka through Common Counselling. 50% State Quota + 50% Management Quota — both via KEA. Non-Karnataka candidates eligible for Management/OPN quota only.

Important Notice

Selected PG candidates who have not served the 2-year MBBS rural bond must execute a 1-year bond to serve in SJMCH-affiliated hospitals after completing PG. PG bond penalty: ₹5,00,000.
