Required Entrance Exams

NEET UG

Eligibility Criteria
10+2 with PCB and English; minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD); minimum age 17 years as of December 31; NEET UG qualified; physically fit
Admission Process
Step 1: Qualify NEET UG (450+ marks recommended for a competitive chance). Step 2: Register on KEA portal (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ugneet). Registration fee: ₹750–₹5,000 depending on category. Step 3: Document verification (in-person for Karnataka domicile / online for non-Karnataka). Step 4: Pay caution deposit of ₹1,00,000 from Round 2 onwards. Step 5: Fill and lock college choices. Step 6: KEA publishes allotment result; candidates report to SIMS Shimoga with original documents.

Important Notice

Required documents: NEET UG Score Card and Admit Card, 10th and 12th Marks Cards and Certificates, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Domicile/Caste Certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar Card, PAN Card (student/parent), minimum 5 passport photographs, Online Counselling Registration Certificate. For NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals: additionally Passport, Work Permit, NRI School Certificate, RBI Inward Remittance Certificate, RGUHS Eligibility Certificate. NEET cutoff marks to qualify: General – 50th percentile (approximately 450+ marks); OBC – 380–450; SC/ST – 280–350; NRI – 250–300 (approximate). Compulsory rural service bond required post-MBBS. Service bond penalty to be paid before medical council registration or PG admission.

MBBS from NMC-recognized institution with min 50% marks; 1 year mandatory internship completed by March 31; NEET PG qualified (50th percentile General / 45th for reserved); NMC/State Medical Council registration
Admission Process
Admissions to PG MD/MS/Diploma programs via Karnataka KEA PG counselling. Both State and Management quota allotted through KEA. Non-Karnataka candidates eligible for Management/OPN quota. A PG degree holder in any clinical specialty is not eligible for admission to another PG degree course.

Required documents for PG admission: NEET PG Score Card, MBBS Certificate, MBBS Part-III Mark Sheet, Medical Registration Certificate, Internship Completion Certificate, Aadhaar/PAN/Passport (Photo ID), Online Counselling Registration Certificate, State Govt. Sponsorship Certificate (if applicable), minimum 8 passport photographs. Compulsory rural service bond and PG service bond apply as per Karnataka norms.
