Since its founding, TIMS has focused on postgraduate management and computer applications education rather than a broad multi-discipline offering. Its flagship programme is a two-year, full-time MBA that has been running since the institute's inception, sanctioned for 120 seats by AICTE, and structured around six specialisation tracks: Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, International Business and Operations Management. In the 2025-26 academic year, the institute added a two-year, full-time MCA programme with 60 AICTE-sanctioned seats, aimed at students seeking careers in software development, data science and IT infrastructure, with the curriculum including add-on modules in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Full Stack Development and Data Analytics.
TIMS describes its educational philosophy as moving beyond rote learning toward developing what it calls the four critical skills of a manager: Technical, Conceptual, Human and Communication ability. Classrooms are run as interactive 'boardrooms' with case discussions, quizzes and primary-data-based research projects built into every semester.
