The college is approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), the statutory body established under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, replacing the earlier Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). NCISM approval permits the college to conduct the BAMS programme (60 seats) and the MS (Ayu) Shalya Tantra programme (3 seats). This approval is the primary regulatory qualification for any Ayurvedic institution in India and is a prerequisite for RGUHS affiliation and NEET-based admissions.

RGUHS – Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore — the apex health sciences university of Karnataka — which conducts the final university examinations and awards the BAMS and MS (Ayu) degrees to students of TMAES AMC Hospet.
