Why Was NEET UG 2026 Cancelled?

NEET UG 2026 was conducted on May 3 for over 22 lakh candidates across 5,400 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Shortly after the exam, reports of paper leak began circulating. Groups on messaging apps were sharing questions under names like "high probability questions" and "trusted source" — which turned out to be actual leaked content. NTA investigated and confirmed the leak on May 12, cancelling the exam the same day. The CBI has since registered an FIR and arrested several accused including Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Shubham Khairnar and Yash Yadav. A Delhi court called it an "organised gang" that leaked and circulated papers for money.
