Seth Sakharam Nemchand Jain Ayurved Rugnalaya (Teaching Hospital)
A 104-bedded Ayurvedic teaching hospital located in the heart of Solapur city, operational since 1917. The hospital attends to approximately 250 outpatients daily and offers inpatient services across 9 departments. Notable specialised services include Suvarna Prashan, Ksharsutra Therapy, Panchakarma Therapy, IOL Centre (Ophthalmology), and Physiotherapy. The hospital also runs charity patient services, daily health schemes, Garbh Sanskar sessions, and regular outreach camps.
Library
A well-stocked library with a rich collection of Ayurvedic and medical textbooks, classical Samhitas, reference books, and rare Ayurvedic literature. Equipped with modern facilities and internet access for students and faculty. Reading room with a calm environment for academic study.
Herbal Garden
A well-maintained herbal garden housing a variety of medicinal plants used in Ayurvedic practice. Used for Dravyaguna Vigyana practical training and student botanical identification sessions. Students also undertake visits to renowned herbal gardens across Maharashtra as part of the academic programme.
Hostel – Smt. Kasturbai Walchand Girls Hostel
A dedicated girls hostel with capacity for 50 students, constructed in 1993 with a generous donation from Walchand Industries Charitable Trust. Named after Smt. Kasturbai Walchand. Boys hostel facility is also available on campus. Contact the college office at 0217-2324736 for current availability and fee details.
Research Methodology and Medical Statistics Department
A dedicated department for Research Methodology and Medical Statistics supporting UG and PG students in designing, conducting, and analysing Ayurvedic research projects. MUHS-funded short-term research projects are carried out by students under the guidance of faculty.
NSS (National Service Scheme)
An active NSS unit at SGR Ayurved conducts community outreach, health awareness camps, blood donation drives, school health visits, No Tobacco Day pledges, and various social service activities in Solapur and surrounding areas.

Seth Sakharam Nemchand Jain Ayurved Rugnalaya – 104-Bedded Teaching Hospital
The attached teaching hospital, Seth Sakharam Nemchand Jain Ayurved Rugnalaya, is the cornerstone of clinical training at SGR Ayurved. Located in the heart of Solapur city and operational since 1917, the hospital has a bed capacity of 104 and attends to approximately 250 outpatients every day. It runs 9 active OPD and IPD departments including Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakyatantra, Prasuti-Stree Roga, Kaumarbhritya, Swasthyarakshan, Vishachikitsa, and Rog-Nidan. The hospital is particularly renowned in Solapur for its Suvarna Prashan, Ksharsutra Therapy, Panchakarma Therapy, IOL Centre, and Physiotherapy services. Charity patient services and Government health schemes are actively implemented.
Library and Reading Room
The college library is a well-stocked resource centre with a collection of Ayurvedic classical texts, modern medical textbooks, reference books, and rare Ayurvedic literature. It is equipped with modern reading facilities and internet access, and the reading room provides students with a focused academic environment. The library supports research work for UG and PG students as well as Ph.D. scholars.
Herbal Garden
A well-maintained herbal garden on the college campus houses a variety of medicinal plants described in Ayurvedic classical texts. The garden is used for Dravyaguna Vigyana (Ayurvedic Pharmacognosy) practical training. Students of SGR Ayurved also undertake educational visits to renowned herbal gardens and scientific places across Maharashtra as part of the academic programme, broadening their botanical knowledge.
Smt. Kasturbai Walchand Girls Hostel
SGR Ayurved provides hostel accommodation for girl students through the Smt. Kasturbai Walchand Girls Hostel, with a capacity of 50 students, built in 1993 with a donation from Walchand Industries Charitable Trust. Boys hostel facility is also available on campus. Hostel accommodation allows students from outside Solapur to reside on or near campus while pursuing their BAMS or PG programmes.
Research and Academic Activities
Research is an active part of the academic culture at SGR Ayurved. MUHS Nashik-funded short-term research projects are carried out by students under the guidance of senior faculty members. The college has a dedicated Research Methodology and Medical Statistics department that equips students with the tools needed to design and conduct original Ayurvedic research. Post Graduate students complete research-based MD/MS dissertations, and Ph.D. scholars contribute original doctoral research. Research publications, PG thesis, and Ph.D. thesis archives are maintained on the official website.
NSS, Outreach, and Community Activities
The college NSS unit is actively involved in community health outreach, health awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, school health visits, No Tobacco Day events, and social service programmes in Solapur and surrounding areas.
