About Shri Venkateshwara University

The University is organised into 14 Faculties and Schools: Medical Sciences, Nursing, Paramedical Sciences (including a College of Physiotherapy), Engineering & Technology, Agriculture Sciences, Applied Sciences, Commerce & Management, Law & Jurisprudence, Education, three distinct Pharmacy institutions - the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), the School of Pharmacy (SOP) and the College of Pharmacy (COP) - the Department of Social Sciences & Humanities, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, and the Department of Library & Information Sciences. This breadth allows students to choose from technical, medical, management, legal, vocational and liberal-arts pathways within a single university ecosystem.

SVU is governed by a formal institutional structure that includes a Governing Body, Executive Council, Academic Council, Finance Committee, Examination Committee and Board of Studies, alongside leadership roles such as Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Joint Group CEO and Vice Chancellor. The University holds statutory approvals relevant to its professional programmes, including recognition from the UGC, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) for its Nursing degrees, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for its three Pharmacy schools, the Bar Council of India (BCI) for its Law programmes, and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for its B.Ed. and integrated teacher-education programmes, along with UP State Medical Faculty (UPSMF) recognition for select Paramedical diplomas.

On the academic-support side, SVU maintains a Teaching and Learning cell, a Skill Enhancement initiative, and has aligned its curriculum with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The University publishes an Academic Calendar each session, runs its own examination system with a published Examination Ordinance and Calendar, and offers results through its Result Declaration portal, in addition to participation in the National Academic Depository and the UP-Abacus / Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) framework. Student welfare is supported through dedicated bodies such as the Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad, the Internal Complaints Committee, the SC & ST Cell, the Equal Opportunity Cell, and the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Group Committee, alongside an active Student Council, Student Clubs, and an Alumni Association that keeps graduates connected to the University.
