Scholarships at SVU
The centrepiece of SVU's scholarship offering is its tiered Meritorious Student Scholarship, which is based on the percentage scored by a student in their qualifying examination and is explicitly tied to appearing for and clearing SVU-CET. Students scoring 95% or more in their qualifying examination are eligible for a 50% scholarship on fees for the first year or first two semesters of their programme. Those scoring between 85% and just under 95% receive a 20% scholarship for the same period, while those scoring between 75% and just under 85% receive a 15% scholarship. Students scoring between 60% and just under 75% are eligible for a 10% scholarship for their first year or two semesters.
Because SVU-CET is a precondition for the Meritorious Student Scholarship, students who wish to avail any tier of merit-based fee concession must register for and appear in the entrance test as part of their admission process, regardless of how strong their qualifying-examination marks are. The scholarship structure is applied at the point of fee payment for the first year (or first two semesters, for programmes structured that way), and is separate from the University's education-loan facility, which is available at 100% across all courses for students who need financing support beyond scholarship concessions. For the most current scholarship terms, students are advised to refer to the official Fee Structure and Reservation & Scholarship pages on svu.edu.in, as scholarship policies are reviewed and republished each admission session.
