Admission to all Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes at Shri Venkateshwara University is processed through SVU-CET - the Shri Venkateshwara University Common Entrance Test - which the official Fee Structure 2026-27 describes as mandatory for every aspirant seeking admission to SVU. SVU-CET is also a prerequisite for students who wish to avail the University's merit-based scholarships, which are tiered according to the percentage scored in the qualifying examination. Prospective students can begin the admission process online through the University's dedicated admission portal, where they can register for Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Diploma programmes, as well as for the Ph.D. entrance test (SVUCET for Ph.D. registration).

Admissions at SVU
Eligibility criteria vary by programme and are published in detail on the official Fee Structure page: for example, most 10+2-based undergraduate programmes require a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates), professional programmes such as B.Sc. Nursing and the Paramedical diplomas have additional age and medical-fitness requirements, and postgraduate programmes typically require a minimum aggregate at the graduate level, with some programmes such as MBA and M.Pharm also accepting valid national-level scores (MAT/CAT, GPAT respectively) in lieu of or alongside SVU-CET.
SVU supports admitted students with a number of financial facilities. A 100% education loan facility is available across all courses, helping students manage their tuition costs. The University also provides free transportation from specified locations and a subsidised transport option at Rs. 16,000 per year from select locations, easing the daily commute for day-scholars. A one-time registration fee of Rs. 2,000 is charged at admission, with no re-registration charges in subsequent years. A referral amount of Rs. 5,000 is provided for successful admissions made through student or alumni referral, as per the official terms.
The University explicitly notes that Prospectus, Convocation, Alumni Association and Degree charges are additional to the course fee, and that clinical postings, field work, industrial training or other course-specific activities may attract extra charges as per the demand of the programme. The University also reserves the right not to start a particular course in a given session if the number of admitted candidates falls below 10 students, and classes for the 2025-26 batch were scheduled to begin from 5th August 2025, with class entry permitted only after payment of the semester fee, as per the official admission guidelines published on svu.edu.in.
