NCISM Approval – Ministry of AYUSH

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), the apex regulatory body for Ayurveda education in India under the Ministry of AYUSH, has granted permission for 100 BAMS (UG) seats and 93 PG seats across 15 specialisations (MD/MS Ayurveda) at SDM CAH Hassan for AY 2024-25, vide Ref. No. 4-19/KA/MARB/2024-Ay dated 29.04.2024. Earlier permissions trace back to 2019-20 and have been renewed consistently, reflecting sustained compliance with NCISM's Minimum Standards of Education for Ayurveda.

RGUHS Affiliation

SDM CAH Hassan is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, the affiliating university for all health sciences colleges in Karnataka. RGUHS affiliation for AY 2024-25 was renewed vide RGUHS/AFF/AYUSH(AYURVEDA)/Notification/2024-25 dated 24-09-2024. Ph.D (Ayurveda) recognition from RGUHS is valid from AY 2020-21 onwards. The institution also figures in the RGUHS-recognised list for all 15 PG specialisations.

Quality Council of India (QCI) – 'A' Grade Accreditation

The institution received 'A' Grade accreditation from the Quality Council of India (QCI), as announced in early 2025 and received by Principal Dr. Shailaja U. QCI accreditation evaluates educational institutions on infrastructure, academic outcomes, governance, faculty quality, research output, and patient care standards. This accreditation positions SDM CAH Hassan among the quality-certified Ayurveda institutions in India.

International Recognition and MoUs

SDM CAH Hassan has formalised academic and research partnerships with four prestigious international institutions: the International University of Yoga & Ayurveda in Florida (USA), South California University of Health Sciences (USA), I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Russia), and Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital in Kerala. Joint international conferences with Sechenov University on pharmacopoeial standards and medicinal plant research have been held in 2023 and 2024. These MoUs enhance the institution's global academic standing and open research avenues for faculty and postgraduate scholars.
