VIPS has one of the most varied cutoff profiles of any GGSIPU college because its programmes span six different entrance exam systems. Engineering cutoffs are based on JEE Main/IPU CET ranks; law cutoffs on CLAT scores; MCA on NIMCET ranks; and BBA, BCA, BJMC on IPU CET streams. Each stream's cutoff reflects that stream's competitive demand nationally and within GGSIPU's own applicant pool. Understanding the cutoff for your specific programme is therefore far more important at VIPS than arriving with a single JEE Main rank and assuming it covers all possibilities.

VIPS Delhi Cutoffs: Understanding the Multi-Programme Admission Landscape
For B.Tech, VIPS's closing ranks are more accessible than MAIT and MSIT, reflecting a lower position in the GGSIPU engineering college hierarchy but a still-functional placement outcome for motivated students. A student with a JEE Main rank between 80,000 and 3,00,000 who is primarily interested in engineering but wants a multi-disciplinary campus environment should seriously evaluate VIPS B.Tech. For law, the calculus inverts: VIPS BA LLB's CLAT cutoff is more competitive than many lower-ranked law colleges because VIPS's law ranking is genuinely strong, creating demand that tightens the cutoff.
| Programme | Round | Home State (OPNOHS) | Outside State (OPNOOS) |
|---|---|---|---|
| MCA | Round 2 | 8,427 | 3,396 |
| LLB | Round 3 | 15,710 β 18,947 | 4,396 β 4,804 |
| LLM | Round 3 | 10,874 β 13,906 | ~4,064 |
| BA LLB / BBA LLB (CLAT) | Various | 2,700 β 58,398 (CLAT rank) | - |
| B.Com (Hons) | Last Round | Up to 7,779 (IPU CET) | More competitive |
Cutoff Strategies for Different Aspirants
For B.Tech aspirants: VIPS engineering cutoffs are accessible for students in the 70β80 JEE Main percentile range who have not secured a seat at MAIT or MSIT. Given VIPS's NAAC 'A++' and the unique cross-disciplinary campus environment, it is worth considering seriously rather than defaulting to a more engineering-focused but less accredited college elsewhere. For law aspirants: CLAT scores in the range that would not clear NLUs or top Delhi University law colleges (like CLC or FLC) often do clear VIPS's BA LLB cutoff - and given VIPS's law ranking, this is a strong outcome. For BBA and commerce aspirants: VIPS ranks among the top 40 nationally for BBA and top 75 for B.Com, making its IPU CET cutoffs for these programmes excellent value relative to the national standing they confer.
