Courses Offered at PDEA CARC, Nigdi, Pune

BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery

The BAMS programme at CARC spans 5.5 years, comprising 4.5 years of structured academic learning and 1 year of compulsory rotating internship. With a sanctioned intake of 60 seats per year, the programme is delivered across 14 fully equipped departments. Teaching is conducted through traditional methods as well as modern audio-visual technology including LCD and OHP presentations. All teaching faculty hold M.D. (Ayurved) qualifications, ensuring subject expertise at the highest level. Students must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance to be eligible for MUHS examinations. The examination pattern includes both internal assessment and MUHS University assessment, with a minimum of 50% marks required in theory and practical separately.

MD / MS (Ayurveda) - Post Graduate Programmes

CARC offers three-year MD (Ayurveda) and MS (Ayurveda) programmes across 14 disciplines with a total intake of 68 seats. MD (Ayurveda) disciplines include Samhita Siddhanta and Sanskrit, Rachna Sharira, Kriya Sharira, Dravyaguna Vijnana, Rasashastra evam Bhaishajyakalpana, Roga Nidana evam Vikriti Vigyan, Agad Tantra evam Vidhi Vaidyaka, Swasthavritta evam Yoga, and Kayachikitsa. MS (Ayurveda) disciplines include Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Prasuti Tantra and Stree Rog, and Kaumarabhritya. PG students also benefit from a dedicated Research and Statistics department, an advanced research laboratory, and collaboration with IDRL Pune. PG exam results at CARC are 100%.

Ph.D. in Ayurveda

CARC is an approved Ph.D. centre offering doctoral programmes in 13 Ayurvedic disciplines under MUHS regulations. The minimum duration is three years. Ph.D. candidates work under approved research guides in departments including Samhita Siddhanta, Rachna Sharira, Kriya Sharira, Dravyaguna Vijnana, Rasashastra, Roga Nidana, Agad Tantra, Swasthavritta evam Yoga, Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, and Kaumarabhritya. The college's research infrastructure - including the collaboration with IDRL Pune and the dedicated research lab - provides a strong foundation for doctoral research.

Fellowship Courses in Ayurveda

CARC offers two MUHS-approved Fellowship Courses - Fellowship in Panchakarma Therapy and Fellowship in Ksharsutra Chikitsa - each with an intake of 10 seats. These one-year programmes are designed for BAMS graduates seeking advanced clinical specialisation in procedural Ayurvedic therapy. Both fellowship courses are approved by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Certificate and Proficiency Courses

The institute also offers Crash Courses, Post Graduate Proficiency Courses, and Certificate Courses in Panchakarma, Ksharsutra, Nursing, and Cosmetics - all approved by MUHS, Nashik. These short-term programmes are valuable for working practitioners and BAMS graduates seeking to enhance specific clinical skills.
