Who Is Eligible for the Special Stray Round?
Eligible applicants who have already applied through CENTAC may participate, subject to the listed exclusions. CENTAC has also invited fresh applications from NEET UG 2026-qualified candidates for the unfilled MBBS and BDS seats. Importantly, newly applying candidates are considered for allotment only after the existing merit list has been exhausted. A fresh application therefore does not place a candidate ahead of registered applicants already on that list.
- Candidates appearing in the CENTAC Round 3 or Stray Round allotment list are excluded, whether they joined or not.
- Candidates on the Round 3 admitted list of All India Quota or State Quota, including those who joined in Round 1 or Round 2, are excluded.
- Candidates allotted any seat in MCC or AYUSH stray-round counselling are excluded.
- Candidates already in the admitted list cannot resign the admitted seat to join this round.

Full Tuition Fee, Forfeiture and Seat Sliding Rules
To participate, candidates must submit their willingness and course preferences and pay the full applicable tuition fee as the registration fee. Those who already paid registration fees in earlier rounds must pay any remaining balance applicable to this special stray round. Exact college-wise amounts are not stated in the notice; applicants should consult the fee schedule on the official CENTAC website and the 2026–27 UG NEET information brochure before paying.
Payment is enabled through dashboard instructions using net banking or a generated NEFT/RTGS challan. The notice instructs applicants to transfer the exact challan amount; each generated NEFT/RTGS challan is for one use only. Crucially, a candidate who receives an allotment and does not join forfeits the full tuition fee applicable to that course and quota. For eligible Puducherry SC/ST/EBC/GSS candidates allotted a government-quota seat, the stated stray registration-fee forfeiture is ₹50,000 for MBBS or BDS.
The notice also states that non-joining candidates will be barred from any further counselling rounds and from appearing in the next year’s NEET UG examination. Sliding is not permitted in this special stray round. Preferences submitted during the earlier stray round are invalid for this round, so even previously registered candidates must enter course choices again.
