History and Founding Legacy of SSAM
The college owes its foundation to the vision of Late Dr. Dadasaheb alias S. T. Gujar, a distinguished practitioner of the indigenous system of medicine (Ayurveda), who was inspired by the social reform philosophy of Late Sane Guruji โ the legendary social reformer of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Arogya Mandal, the parent institution, has been a pioneer in healthcare, rural upliftment, tribal development in Bhimashankar and Nandurbar districts, and Ayurvedic education across multiple levels. The college was built through untiring efforts and continues to be guided by Secretary Shri Anil S. Gujar.
Accreditation, Recognition and Approvals
MAM's SSAM holds the prestigious NCISM Grade A accreditation from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, New Delhi. The institution is also accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). All programmes are recognised by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New Delhi. The fee structure is regulated by the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA), Maharashtra, ensuring transparency and affordability for students.

The institution is led by Hon. Dr. Prof. S. F. Patil as President and Hon. Shri Anil S. Gujar as Secretary of Maharashtra Arogya Mandal. The college is headed by Prof. Dr. Sachinkumar Sahebrao Patil, who received the Best Principal and Medical Director Award 2026 at the National Conference and Golden Aim Awards 2026, and the Award for Clinical Excellence at the Ayush Natural Viksit Maha Worlds Expo 2026, Pune.
