State Government Scholarship Schemes

The Maharashtra State Government provides scholarship support to students belonging to reserved categories including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Special Backward Classes (SBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC). These scholarships are administered through the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra, and are credited directly to eligible students' bank accounts. The approved fee structure at SSAM already reflects reduced fees for OBC/SBC and EBC/EWS/SEBC students for BAMS 2025-26.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students

SC/ST students admitted to BAMS or PG programmes at SSAM are eligible for the Post-Matric Scholarship from the Government of Maharashtra. This scholarship covers tuition fees and maintenance allowance as per government norms. Students must apply through the Mahadbte portal (mahadbte.net.in) within the stipulated deadlines. SSAM's administrative office assists students in completing the scholarship application process.

Central Government Scholarship Schemes

Students may also apply for central government scholarships available on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in. These include Central Sector Scholarships for SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and EWS students; Post-Matric Scholarships under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment; and scholarships for Minority community students under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Eligible students are encouraged to apply within NSP deadlines each academic year.

Fee Concessions and Institutional Quota

Institutional Quota fees at SSAM are governed by the State Government letter dated 13/09/2024 and are regulated by the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA), Maharashtra. The FRA ensures that fee structures remain fair and transparent. Eligible students under reserved categories benefit from reduced annual fees that are significantly lower than the Open Category fees. For the most current information on institutional concessions and fee waivers, students are advised to contact the college office directly at 020-29522505.

How to Apply for Scholarships

To avail of scholarships, students should: (1) Register on the Maharashtra state scholarship portal or the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in; (2) Collect required documents including caste certificate, income certificate, domicile certificate, previous academic marksheets, Aadhaar card, and bank account details; (3) Submit the scholarship application online within the deadlines notified by the respective government department; (4) Follow up with the college scholarship coordinator for institutional verification and approval. Students with SC/ST-specific grievances can also use the SC/ST Students Complaint Box facility provided by the college.
