BAMS โ€“ Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery

The BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is the flagship undergraduate programme at SSAM. The course spans 5.5 years โ€” comprising 4.5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory rotating internship. Students gain comprehensive training in classical Ayurvedic texts, pre-clinical and clinical subjects, and hands-on hospital training at the attached Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra (250 beds). Admission is through NEET UG scores via the State CET Cell Maharashtra. The approved annual tuition fee for 2025-26 is Rs. 1,98,000/- for Open/General category, Rs. 99,000/- for OBC/SBC, and Rs. 99,000/- for EBC/EWS/SEBC candidates.

MD (Ayurveda) / MS (Ayurveda) โ€“ Post Graduate Programmes

Under the Dr. Dada Gujar Institute of P.G. Studies & Research in Ayurveda โ€” established in 2001 โ€” SSAM offers three-year full-time MD (Ayurveda) and MS (Ayurveda) programmes in 13 disciplines with a total intake capacity of 78 seats. MD (Ayurveda) disciplines include Ayurved Samhita & Siddhanta, Kriya Sharir, Swasthavritta & Yoga, Dravyaguna Vigyana, Ras Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Rognidan avum Vikruti Vigyana, Agad Tantra avum Vidhi Vaidyaka, and Kayachikitsa (6 seats each). MS (Ayurveda) disciplines include Prasuti Tantra avum Striroga, Shalya Tantra โ€“ Samanya, Shalakya Tantra โ€“ Netra Roga, Panchakarma, and Kaumarbhritya (6 seats each). Admission is based on AIAPGET merit scores. The approved annual fee for MD/MS (Ayu.) 2025-26 is Rs. 1,83,000/- across all categories.

PG Diploma Courses in Ayurveda

SSAM also offers Post Graduate Diploma Courses in select Ayurvedic disciplines. These are one-year programmes open to BAMS graduates and are conducted under the MUHS framework. They provide focused specialisation in clinical areas and are ideal for practitioners seeking advanced skills without committing to a full three-year MD/MS programme.

Ph.D. in Ayurveda

The college offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme in Ayurveda through recognised research guides and registered departments. The minimum duration is three years. Ph.D. programmes are open to MD/MS (Ayurveda) or equivalent degree holders, subject to MUHS Ph.D. regulations and available research supervisors. This programme is suited for academicians, researchers, and those aspiring to contribute to original Ayurvedic research.

Fellowship Courses

SSAM offers one-year Fellowship Courses in specialized Ayurvedic domains. These programmes are open to BAMS or MD/MS (Ayu.) graduates depending on the discipline.
