Students from Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana and Dravyaguna departments benefit most directly from this facility." },
Herbal Garden
SSAM maintains an extensive Herbal Garden housing a diverse collection of medicinal plants used in Ayurvedic practice and documented in classical texts. The garden is actively used for practical training in Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic Pharmacognosy) and serves as an educational resource for UG and PG students. It has also been visited by students from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, and various schools and colleges, reflecting its role as a regional centre of botanical knowledge.
Library and Digital Resources
The college library is well-stocked with books, reference texts, Ayurvedic classical literature, national and international journals, and digital resources covering Ayurveda and allied health sciences. An integrated Library Management System (LMS) enables easy cataloguing, access, and management of library resources. The library supports both UG and PG students in their academic and research pursuits.
Laboratories
SSAM is equipped with dedicated laboratories for each pre-clinical and para-clinical department, including Rachana Sharir (Anatomy), Kriya Sharir (Physiology), Rognidan and Vikruti Vidnyan, Dravyaguna, Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, and Agad Tantra. These labs are equipped with relevant instruments, specimens, chemical reagents, and demonstration materials in compliance with NCISM standards.
Museums
The college houses educational museums for departments such as Rachana Sharir (Anatomy) and Dravyaguna Vidnyan. These museums contain anatomical specimens, skeletons, medicinal plant samples, crude drug specimens, and Ayurvedic artefacts, providing a tangible learning resource that complements classroom and laboratory teaching.
Hostel Facilities
SSAM provides hostel accommodation for both male and female students within the campus premises. The hostels are designed to offer a comfortable and safe living environment, allowing students from other cities and states to reside on campus while pursuing their BAMS, MD, MS, or other programmes. Students are advised to contact the college office at 020-29522505 for current hostel availability, fee details, and rules.
E-Learning and Learning Management System (LMS)
SSAM has embraced digital education through its dedicated YouTube e-learning channel and an online Learning Management System (LMS). Faculty upload study materials, recorded lectures, and curriculum content onto the LMS platform, allowing students to access learning resources anytime and anywhere. This initiative supplements classroom learning and supports students during internships and clinical postings.
Clinical Trial Unit and Research Infrastructure
SSAM has a registered Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) for conducting Ayurvedic clinical research, registered with the Clinical Trials Registry, India (CTRI). The college also runs a long-standing Sickle Cell Anaemia Research Project in the Nandurbar tribal district, demonstrating its commitment to community healthcare and original Ayurvedic research. Regular workshops, seminars, CME programmes, and RoTP activities support the research culture on campus.
NSS, Sports, and Student Activities
The college has an active National Service Scheme (NSS) unit that conducts community health camps, blood donation drives, tuberculosis awareness rallies, and outreach activities in and around Hadapsar and rural areas. The sports facility supports inter-college competitions, including the college-organised annual 'Dr. Dada Gujar Volleyball Cup' — a Pune District Inter Ayurved College Sports Competition.
