The recruiter list includes Amazon, Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, IBM, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, DXC Technologies, Darwinbox, Efftronics, ITC, Federal Bank, Rakuten, Informatica, HSBC and DBS, among others. Mass recruiters such as TCS, Wipro, Cognizant and Accenture hire large numbers of graduates every year, while companies like Amazon and Darwinbox offer higher packages to students with strong programming, data structures and problem-solving skills. Students from the Computer Science family of branches enjoy the widest range of offers, but the cell also arranges drives for electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, biotechnology and pharmacy graduates.
Preparation for placements begins early. Students undergo communication training from the first year, a soft skill course in the second year, and campus recruitment training sessions that include aptitude practice, coding rounds, group discussion and mock interviews. Students become eligible to sit for campus drives in the final year, and many of them also secure internships during the earlier semesters, which converts into pre-placement offers in several cases. Industry interaction through guest lectures, hackathons and project competitions further improves the employability of the graduates.
Not every graduate chooses a job. A significant share of students move on to higher studies, and recent data shows that several hundred graduates in a single batch opted for postgraduate programmes in India and abroad. ABET accreditation of five engineering programmes helps students who plan to apply to universities overseas, and the university supports GATE, GRE, TOEFL and IELTS preparation through library resources and training sessions.
Entrepreneurship is another career path supported by the university through its technology business incubation activities and student innovation clubs. Agriculture, pharmacy, law and management graduates find opportunities in agribusiness firms, pharmaceutical companies, courts and law firms, banks and corporate management trainee programmes. Students interested in research can join the Ph.D programme, and the university's DSIR recognition adds support for funded projects. A discussion of how the university performs on national and international benchmarks is available on the rankings page.
