Rankings and Approvals of VFSTR Guntur

The university was accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC in its second cycle on 26 October 2021, and the validity of this grade runs up to 25 October 2026, so applicants should check the current accreditation status when they apply. The university also holds a Diamond rating in the QS I-GAUGE system, and it features in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 in the 1100-1200 band. The Careers360 India's Best Engineering Institutes 2026 rankings conferred an AAAA+ rating, and the university was placed 30th in the National Green University Ranking 2026 for sustainability practices.

Programme level accreditation is equally important. ABET has accredited five engineering programmes at VFSTR, namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Biotechnology, which makes Vignan one of about a dozen Indian institutions with this recognition. The National Board of Accreditation has accredited B.Tech Biotechnology, CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical Engineering up to June 2026, and Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, B.Pharmacy, MBA and MCA for the period from January 2026 to December 2028.

Regulatory approvals include recognition as a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act with 12B status, approval of technical programmes by AICTE, approval of pharmacy programmes by the Pharmacy Council of India and approval of the five-year law programmes by the Bar Council of India. The university has DSIR recognition as a research centre, an ISO 9001:2015 certificate and membership of bodies such as the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific and the Institution of Engineers (India). International accreditation from the International Accreditation Organization adds further assurance about quality.

Rankings should be read together with personal priorities such as branch, location, budget and placement outcomes. A high rank in the engineering category suggests strong teaching, research and graduation outcomes, but students should also check the performance of the specific department they want to join.
