A minimum of 80 percent marks in the qualifying examination is required to avail the merit scholarship, and the rank in JEE Main or Advanced should be the all-India rank or marks in the candidate's respective category. The scholarship is applicable for the full four years of study, but it is continued only if the student maintains a minimum CGPA of 7.0 in the preceding year without any backlogs. Students who fall below this requirement may lose the concession, so consistent academic performance is essential.
The university also provides a fee concession for reserved category students. Students from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who are admitted to the university receive a minimum tuition fee waiver, which is separate from the merit slabs. In addition, sports quota seats are reserved for outstanding sportspersons who have represented their state or country, and such students can receive concessions for the duration of their course. Applicants should confirm the latest percentages, documents and deadlines with the admission office.
Education loans are another way to manage the cost of study. More than a dozen public and private sector banks, including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank and UCO Bank, provide customised loans to admitted students, and UCO Bank operates a branch on the campus. Loans can cover tuition, hostel charges, transport and the purchase of books, and they require a minimum of 60 percent in the board examination in a single attempt. Repayment starts after graduation, in line with RBI guidelines. Students can compare the effective cost of each programme using the fee structure page.
